He’d rather strike out on a full swing than hit a weak grounder by just trying to make contact.
Sato's Transcendence: Finding the Way by 'Waiting' and Zone Management
While Morishita is aggressive, Sato is finding maturity. "Instead of reacting to everything, I think it's better to just wait for 'this' spot." Specifically, he focuses on waiting for the inside pitch and reacting to the outside. This was evidenced by his performance against Hernandez in the Japan Series, where he narrowed his focus to the "inside heat" and crushed it. It wasn't just power; it was tactical evolution.
